A Canadian man has received a phone bill, yes a genuine one, for $85,000 (£41,000). He bought a new phone which purported to come with unlimited data transfer. He clearly took this deal and ran with it, as he then took it upon himself to start transferring and downloading high res movies etc.
He was then slapped with a big arse bill. He obviously then protested as he thought is was unfair and the phone company compensated his enthusiasm by reducing the bill to $3,243 (around £1,500).
Story courtesy of BBC News.
Piotr Staniaszek thought he could use his new phone as a modem for his computer under his $10 unlimited mobile browser plan from Bell Mobility. He downloaded high-definition movies and other large files unaware that this incurred massive extra charges.

Does it ever bother you that you can’t just buy a product or service and be content to know that the company selling it to you has your best interest in mind? That uneasy feeling that comes with every major purchase or purchase of something you’re not sure about is, I think, due to that fact you’re worried about signing a contract and ending up in a situation like this guy…..
