The unabashed profit-mongers behind the Sex & The City movie, are at it again and are in the early stages of producing Sex & the City: The Movie 2, HBO confirms to Entertainment Weekly [Website - TheLostGirl’s Blog].

The film, despite a critical lashing, has taken $345 million, since its premier at the end of May 08. Profits like this make it seem as though another production really is inevitable – although the leads Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis say they aren’t rushing, so as to not risk disappointing their loyal fans.

Well at least the girls are doing it for the love of serious and heart-filled acting and not just another quick buck, a sure sign the film will be great *oh, wait, hang on a minute…*

“We’re really heartened by the fans’ enthusiasm,” Michael Lombardo, president of HBO’s programming group, said at the cable network’s annual press tour in Los Angeles. “Absolutely, there is a lot of energy behind doing another SATC movie.”
