I Can Has Copyright? – 17/03/08

This is a new segment, that I am going to play by ear [Website - TheLostGirl’s Blog]. This week I have added some new websites that have essentially stolen my webcopy and not bothered to credit me. I am still playing by the original rules I set in the first week:

1 – I will have print screens only and no links to the offending sites

2 – I will block out the actual site logo, just to be fair.

3 – For reasons of political correctness, I will not name the blog directly/ make it abundantly obvious who I am talking about. However, I reserve the right to angrily slag them off If I feel like it. I am doing a sort of mini public service for the good people on WordPress, who have to put up with people copying their whole posts and not crediting them. I have the feeling that most WordPress people will recognise the sites I put up.

Feel free to use the comments section on this segment to unleash unbridled vitriol on the offenders/ anyone you recognise as taking content from you too…

I Can Has Copyright? – 10/03/08

This is a new segment, that I am going to play by ear [Website - TheLostGirl’s Blog]. 

This is a weekly segment that I am planning to post every Monday – the idea being to highlight the ‘People who pinched/ ”borrowed heavily” without crediting me – This Week’.

I have been doing this blogging thing, long enough now, to know that this segment may tread on a few toes. If I really upset anybody, then f*ck it, I’m not that fussed about pulling it… I’m only trying to make a point.

The idea of this segment is a sort of name-and-shame for the people who have fake websites set up to automatically syphon off whole posts (including my personal ones)/ multiple paragraphs – with no indication, anywhere, that the copy was not written by them.

I will have a few basic rules to try and stay on the right side of the law with this one.

To be fair the last two credited me – but they still nearly have up the whole posts. It only serves to divert adsense traffic to them first!?!

New Blog Features – LolPosts ‘I Can Has Copyright?’

After 4 months on the dot of writing this blog, I figured it was about time that I started some regular features. My highest traffic is fairly consistently on a Monday, so I am going to launch 3 regular ‘Monday Features’ [Website - TheLostGirl’s Blog].

3 – ‘I Can Has Copyright? – People Who Stole My Content This Week’

The first two are my admission to being a bit late into the LOL game. I really only just cottoned on to how damn funny they are. I deliberately ignored the blog for a while, but can no longer ignore it’s power.

The third segment, ‘I Can Has Copyright?’, is a slightly sarcastic look at the buggers who stole either whole posts, or whole paragraphs, without crediting me. I”ll be fair and not name them/ will go to reasonable lengths to cover up any logos, but I’ll print screen away until my fingers are worn down to the nub!
